Sales Report
Again record breaking prices on feeders and on bred heifers in the sale on Friday. Fed cattle prices are at record high levels of $205 live picked up, which is roughly $27 a hundred higher than one year ago with quicker delivery dates than there was a year ago which is indicative of shorter numbers! The bred heifer market on the 50 head we had was all but 3 head brought $3400 to $3800. Very limited test on the bred cow market at all. In the feeder market, I'd call the market on the 400 weight steers $10 to $30 higher. 500 weight steers higher on an uneven test steady to $15 higher, 600 weight steers I'd call $5 to $10 higher. 700 weight steers were in the biggest supply and were $10 to $20 higher. 800 weight steers $5 to $10 higher. The heifer market is harder to explain, the market started out $5 to $10 cheaper and picked up steam and ended up steady to instances of higher depending on reputation and condition. Seats were full of buyers for the 3red straight sale again. We sold 1200 head of livestock and a big tip of the hat to the buyers and sellers, PLUS the crew out back, started the sale at 10 am and sold 1200 hd by 2:15.
